Chateau Denmark - Where Punk Rock and Vintage Gothic Meets Modern Psychedelia
he highly anticipated Chateau Denmark is now open. Studio 104 is delighted to have designed the uniform for the new London hotel, making it one of our most ambitious projects to date. Our CEO, Jane Porter was invited to celebrate the opening last Friday for a Chateau sleepover to get the full insight before the hotel opening. Chateau Denmark is part of the Outernet Global entertainment district, offering a re-imagined perspective on the apartment and hotel experience, providing for a new type of customer looking for more than just a hotel stay.
The new independent hotel is set across 16 buildings, with 55 ‘session rooms’ and apartments dressed in the distinctive Chateau style, allowing guests to sleep where their idols once recorded their famous hits. Chateau Denmark is operated by Carrie Wicks’ CAW Ventures and features interiors from Taylor Howes. With the design inspiration said to ‘imagine a time where punk rock and vintage gothic meets modern psychedelia with a timeless grandeur’. Several of the apartments are also housed around where The Rolling Stones recorded their first album, Jimi Hendrix visited, the Sex Pistols once lived, Chrissie Hynde spent time and of course where many believe, Ziggy Stardust was born.
The ‘Session Rooms’ in The Now Building can be accessed through Denmark Place and are tiered in Superior, Luxury or Deluxe categories so guests really are in the heart of Denmark street. Each room is dressed with striking and provocative interiors, including gold-trimmed beds with graffitied headboards, sculpted fireplaces and roll-top red-lined bathtubs perched a top a marble plinth. With each room having a view of Denmark Street acting as the hotel’s lobby, expect to see the designs of Studio 104 proudly paraded around the road with BTLR’s proudly showing off their uniforms. Our CEO Jane experienced the hotels butler service ‘BTLR’S’, where staff are dressed head-to-toe in the signature Chateau Bolero, passionately brought to life by Studio 104. The BTLR’s provide guests with a one-to-one waiting service during their stay at the hotel, giving them an experience like no other.
The hotel will also feature a lounge bar and basement club salted to open later before the end of the year, alongside a fitness & wellness space, shops, a recording studio, and a venue space which guests will be able to hire out for private events and parties.
Studio 104 is extremely proud to play apart in providing the uniform for Chateau Denmark, with the hotel allowing our designers to have the ultimate creative freedom to create exquisite couture garments that have pushed every boundary possible. We were extremely excited to the see the garments in action along Denmark street, whilst helping Chateau Denmark play its role in continuing the street’s iconic legacy.
So, as they would say at Chateau Denmark, 'back to mine?
