London's Best Outdoor Terraces
ust as we are tentatively released to indulge in luxury hospitality again, we’ve singled out six London luxury hotels making every effort to attract us to their alfresco spaces. Expect high-end drinks brand collaborations, luxury riverboat themes, 5-metre-wide chandeliers, heather and willow tree foliage, retro slushie machines, and pre-embargo Cuban cigars.
THE WIGMORE SUMMER TERRACE AND GARDEN AT THE LANGHAM

The Wigmore gastropub, on Regent Street, which is part of the five-star Langham London hotel, has niftily created a gorgeous, yet abundant alfresco space by connected the pubs terrace with the hotel’s courtyard garden area to form one large dining area, beautifully covered with vines and hanging baskets.
Michel Roux Jr. is responsible for The Wigmore's food, including the summer terrace, which will feature dishes like buttered lobster roll, served with buttermilk onion rings. And not forgetting the drinks, how about Château La Gordonne Provence Rosé jeroboam or ice-cold Froze served from a retro slushie machine? You can also expect some choice beers waiting to be pulled, including The Wigmore’s very own craft house “Saison”, brewed in partnership with Yonder Brewing.
SOLAS AT THE SAVOY

Solas (Gaelic for light, joy, and comfort), is The Savoy's first foray into alfresco dining. It marks the beginning of a season-long ‘pop-up’ collaboration between London's most iconic hotel and Islay's oldest whisky - Bowmore.
For the first time in The Savoy’s history, Savoy Court is transformed into this exclusive terrace, serving up an array of superlative cocktails, around a spectacular raw seafood bar, all of which is enjoyed beneath a 5-meter-wide chandelier, inspired by the 62 found within the hotel.

THE MACALLAN MANOR HOUSE AT ROSEWOOD LONDON

Sticking neatly with the hotel x whisky pop-up theme, another taste of the Scottish Highlands lands in Holborn, as Rosewood London opens The Macallan Manor House, in the courtyard. The River Spey and Macallan Estate inspired space is brimming with heathers, fishing nets and foliage, and an entrance flanked with beautiful willow trees, creating a lush canopy for your arrival.
As well as the obligatory Macallan whisky cocktails, diners can sample dishes like griddled prawns with garlic butter, lamb rump with Jersey Royals & spring vegetables, and Paris-Brest with salted caramel & praline served by Holborn Dining Room team.

SABINE ROOFTOP BAR

Sabine is a new rooftop bar overlooking St Paul's with a big emphasis on greenery, and a stripped back look throughout. Scheduled to open on 20th May, it promises two outdoor terraces, one with a retractable roof and a menu that includes burrata with white peach, pistachio and toast, chilli and lemon crab sticks, grilled octopus with Mojo Rojo sauce, complimented with seasonal cocktails, local gins, a torrent of rosé wines and champagnes.

THE GARDEN AT THE CORINTHIA HOTEL

Arguably London's best kept secret. The Garden, a little pocket of outdoor space protected from the elements by the hotel's walls is a rare, mosaiced oasis in the heart of the city, where summer evenings are best enjoyed with a rosé and a salad and colder days are warmed by blankets, wood-fired pizza, and hot whisky.
Also found here is The Garden’s cigar sommelier Adam Lacja, who presides over a walk-in humidor filled with the finest pre-embargo Cuban cigars. A connoisseur's dream.

DALLOWAY TERRACE AT THE BLOOMSBURY HOTEL

Dalloway Terrace is an elegant, poetic and quintessentially English space. Fully heated throughout the year, this Bloomsbury Hotel restaurant has been transformed into a Springtime hideaway in partnership with Belvedere Vodka offering a light, elegant and beautiful al fresco space for the spring and summer months. Expect dried wheat, cornflowers, daisies and pampas grass, all influenced by the rolling hills of the British countryside.
Heaters & blankets keep things warm when it’s chilly, and the roof retracts when the sun comes out. All-day favourites make up the Dalloway Terrace menu, with a range of cocktails and wines also available, in addition to a popular afternoon tea.
