London, Home to the World's Most Desirable Cocktail Bars
hilst London prepares for Christmas, cocktail bars are the height of popularity, and Studio 104 has had the pleasure of creating uniforms for the some of the finest cocktail bars in London. Here are some of our favourites:
The Connaught Bar at The Connaught Hotel & Spa
The Connaught Bar, designed by the renowned David Collins is all about style, glamour, mirrors, low lighting and silver leaf, a perfect setting for intimate conversation. Even if it’s just for one drink it’s still worth a visit. The Connaught Bar was named ‘World’s Best bar’ in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020, judged by more than 500 industry experts. Their cocktail menu is stuffed with peerless examples of all the originals, but for the true Connaught experience the only way to travel is on the martini trolley – order one and it will be wheeled up beside you, with the drink mixed on top.
Mandarin Bar at The Mandarin Oriental
Located in the heart of Knightsbridge, The Mandarin Bar reopened its doors this year just in time for Christmas. With a fresh new look by Adam D. Tihany as well as an innovative cocktail list, its grown to be one of London’s most popular nightspots. As well as a fresh contemporary design, and a buzzing atmosphere, the chic interiors are centred around a regular catwalk style bar, with suspended copper glass light fixtures and a gold geometric patterned frosted glass wall backdrop, adding drama and glamour to the setting.
The American Bar at The Savoy
The American Bar has previously held the title of ‘The Best Bar in the World. This year, it comes in at number five on the World’s Best Bars list. Having first opened in 1893, it’s the oldest surviving cocktail bar in Britain. With a new Head bartender, Shannon Tebay, her team have prepared a fresh new menu which launched this month. It’s here guests will be able to experience a taste of things to come with a cocktail experience designed by Shannon herself showing off a collection of 15 elegant drinks.
The art-deco glamour of the bar has been carefully complemented with a classic, tailored style 104 uniform too, giving even more of a reason to visit. The mirrors throughout even inspired the diamond jacquard trim seen on the cocktail waitress shift dress.
Le Magritte Bar & Terrace at The Beaumont Hotel
Having reopened in September since being closed for the pandemic, The Beaumont is now roaring to go with an imaginative refresh lead by New York-based designer Thierry Despond and London-based architects Reardon Smith. Part of the new look is a brand-new bar, lounge, al fresco dining terrace, and a rehanging of the hotel’s collection of 20th century art. Le Magritte at the Beaumont hotel became legendary in London & Paris during the 1920’s, specialising in bourbons, American whiskies and classic cocktails which are strictly shaken or stirred. You’ll find the bar staff dressed to perfection in bespoke 104 which goes alongside seamlessly with the hotel’s art deco style.
Here at Studio 104 we have been privileged to partner with the world's most iconic and luxurious bars. Some of our favourite and most stylish bespoke uniform projects have gone into these elegant settings, from the legendary American Bar and Mandarin Bar through to innovators like Common Decency at Nomad London and Sibin at Great Scotland Yard.
