From Opulent Sands to Opulent Skies
he Middle East is much more than just desert and sand - you can be sure of a fantastic experience full of luxury in the Arabian Gulf. The Middle East is a place of contrasts – home to vast deserts, and traditional regions. Alongside amazing beaches and strikingly modern architecture with modern luxurious hotels boasting endless leisure facilities.
Abu Dhabi is the perfect destination for winter sun and for exclusive escapes - the temperature rarely dips below 22 degrees, and it's only a seven-hour flight from London.
Having created the luxury hotel uniforms for Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, we were pleased to learn that Abu Dhabi is home to one of the world’s most expensive luxury hotels which is a part of the Mandarin Oriental family. The Emirates Palace which cost a staggering $3 billion to build has 394 rooms and suites, and 40 meeting and conference rooms. There is a pristine private beach and marina, a myriad of pools and fountains, a sumptuous spa, marble imported from 13 different countries, and over 1,000 crystal chandeliers.
Studio 104 have had the privilege of working on a number of clients in the Middle East. One of our favourites was creating luxury bespoke uniforms for Private Airline - KBBO.
KBBO is a leading investment group headquartered in Abu Dhabi and operating across the globe. We were selected to create a collection of airhostess uniforms for their fleet of private jets, used regularly by their senior stakeholders and top clients.
The brief was to create two luxury uniform collections where quality and tailoring had to be exceptional. Military detailing and the sleek lines of aircrafts, together with the need for a practical design that could be worn in different climates was requested.
Sharp tailoring pieces made from an Italian Ponte Roma achieved the desired, fitted silhouette accompanied by personalised, domed, metal buttons, an etched metal belt, chain edged epaulettes and a bespoke pea hat. The result was the Persian and Intrepid collections. Two distinctive flight attendant capsules made up of choice of dress or trouser suit. The chain epaulettes and cuffs and the silver belt are removable for dry cleaning.
KBBO’s airhostesses are proudly gracing the skies with our new distinctive and memorable couture uniform concepts. Being both iconic and a talking point, instantly recognisable, contemporary and practical.
The demand for luxury uniforms in the Middle East is on the increase in line with their growing hospitality and luxury retail sector. Our core values as a business are our clever concepts and exclusive uniform designs which is why we have been selected for many more projects within this area of the world. Stay tuned to hear more about these.
