Our Favourite Luxury Ski Resort Hotels
or the snow-sport enthusiasts looking ahead to a less restricted winter 2021/22 season, and fervently readying themselves to travel again, we have compiled our pick of the world’s best luxury hotels that not only put you on the slopes, but also package a wealth of amenities.

Airelles Courchevel, Les Airelles, France
Airelles Courchevel, Les Airelles, the first hotel in Courchevel to gain palace status (the prestigious distinction awarded only to France’s most exceptional properties) is elegantly positioned in the pine forests and snow-capped peaks of the world’s largest ski area, Les Trois Vallées and lacks nothing in terms of style, service and amenities.
The magical Austro-Hungarian exterior houses 48 rooms and suites, a Pierre Gagnaire’s restaurant with two Michelin stars, and a sumptuous La Mer Spa. There’s also a four bedroom ‘Private Apartment’ where guests have at their disposal a butler, chauffeur-driven Bentley, private spa, bar, home-cinema, and a terrace with its own al fresco jacuzzi.

Suiboku Hirafu, Niseko, Japan
Suiboku, proudly positioned on a main street in Hirafu, the biggest village in Niseko (roughly two hours from Sapporo) plays host to ten exquisitely crafted lofts. Its name refers to a type of Japanese ink-wash monochrome painting, and the color palette is reflected throughout the property.
Each industrial inspired loft features framed views of Mount Yotei, ofuro-style granite baths, mushiro straw-mat rugs, down futons, Nara wood floors and bamboo screens. Niseko is blanketed by an astonishing average of 15 metres of winter snowfall each year so guests who make the journey here will inevitably be rewarded beyond the hotel amenities.
