The 104 Collection - Second Samples Arrive
s summer has swiftly passed us by and we move into autumn, the great pace set for bringing our inaugural made to order collection to life continues. This pre-designed luxury uniform range is already eagerly awaited for by key clients and new prospects alike, giving the studio extra impetus to establish this exciting collection promptly.
Our last 104 Collection post – The New 104 Collection in Development - detailed the initial concept phase and early development, right through to the first proto-samples. At that point the team reviewed the garment samples on fit models assessing shapes, fabric feel and the all-important ability for the wearer to move with comfort and confidence. Design updates and material requests then followed for the factories to progress towards 2nd samples in the now selected fabrics.
The factories we are using are regular members of the Studio 104 trusted supplier network, being specialists in the highest level of corporatewear tailoring. Our partnership with these businesses has extended across a number of years and seen us collaborate on many of our top tier clients - such as Gleneagles, Great Scotland Yard and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.
To align with our sustainability principles mills were selected that adhere to the Oeko-Tex standard, a worldwide certification endorsing environmentally friendly and socially responsible production in the textile and clothing industry. These mills also comply with ITF traceability certification, which provides an awareness and transparency to the origins and footprint of materials. Finally all of the garments are to be produced locally again reducing our overall carbon footprint.
The 2nd samples have now arrived in the team's chosen fabrics, which is always a thrilling moment. Our production developers and design team reviewed the garments on fit models again to agree their final tweaks to move towards production. An important component in the process of final production is the uniform grading. Working closely with key partners, who hold up-to-date data of global body dimensions, we then plan for the ideal scope of uniform fit to meet the diverse sizes within a client’s team.
In parallel with the production review extensive garment testing now takes places. Here at Studio 104 we surpass the highest levels of corporatewear standards, which is carried out at an external accredited laboratory for colour fastness, rubbing, dimension stability, pilling and abrasion. In addition, all garments are subjected to rigorous laundry testing to ensure they can withstand a high number of laundering and is fit for purpose.
The 104 Collection is a comprehensive range of uniform that will offer a wide suite of designs for most luxury hospitality settings, catering for a plethora of styles and locations. Whether the client is a traditional or modern spirited luxury brand and whether they are located in a hot or temperate climate, the 104 Collection has a dedicated selection to align with their requirements.
Inline with the bespoke and high-design ethos of Studio 104, the collection offers customisable elements and details to enable each client to personalise the uniform to their individual brand identities - a unique and exciting approach to the ready to wear uniform marketplace.
Watch this space for the arrival of the final collection to launch in the coming months.
