The Home That Fashion Built
oth architecture and fashion design are about influencing shape and form to create something beautiful and (runway clothing aside) practical. It therefore does not come as a surprise that there is a substantial crossover between the two specialties.
“Fashion is architecture: It is a matter of proportions” (Coco Chanel).
Designers such as Versace and Cardin studied architecture before moving to the fashion world, and notable architects have likewise dipped their toes into the world of fashion.
Although Fashion inspired luxury residences/collaborations is not a new concept, the Middle East has an eye watering number of completed projects, as well as an exciting pipeline in this ever expanding market. In fact, Dubai itself has the second most schemes in the entire world (29) behind Miami (32 schemes) taking the top spot. Here are some key picks within the Middle East of both completed and upcoming projects.
‘Tailored Hospitality’ - Armani Hotels & Resorts brings together the impeccable taste of Giorgio Armani and the developmental expertise of Emaar Hotels & Resorts. Within each part of the hotel, you can find all the signature details of the fashion brand, such as custom-made furnishing or zebra wood panels, as well as award-winning restaurants, a deluxe spa and Armani goods. However, what makes the hotel unique is the attribution, to each guest, of a personal lifestyle manager, that will help you arrange your stay from childcare to city centre events booking.

The Brand itself already has 7 hotels and residences spanning over Europe, Middle East, and the Far East plus a further 5 in the pipeline including North America! The resort in Dubai itself has won an accolade of awards for the mouth-watering menus across their impressive food outlets, the Spa, and also for their green credentials.
