The Hottest Luxury Hotel Projects in the Middle East
he Middle East is a territory full of marvels that has experienced a substantial period of growth over the last two decades. This development continues to influence every sector of the area’s economy, including the travel and tourism industry. It’s in this sector where the realized growth can be appreciated, a regional expansion that is turning the Middle East in the next focal point for global tourism.
Here is a selection of some of hottest up-and-coming hotel projects in the region:
THE LANA BY THE DORCHESTER COLLECTION (2022-Q4)
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
This will be The Dorchester Collection’s first hotel in the Middle East and its tenth property worldwide.
Coming from the Arabic expression meaning 'for us'and the Hawaiian 'floating gently in calm water', the name pays tribute to the hotel's location among the gleaming skyscrapers of the vibrant Business Bay area and beside the tranquil waters of Dubai Creek
The Lana stands out as an architectural marvel. Interior designers Verhaal and Gilles et Boissier capture an Emirati spirit of innovation with a dynamic selection of restaurants and bars. Unique concepts includes a beautiful patisserie and a signature evening restaurant on the 18th floor. Up on the rooftop, the Earth meets the sky with an enticing pool and bar, the best place to watch the buzzing metropolis slowly smoulder at sunset.
GRAND HYATT THE RED SEA (2023-Q1)
Al Wajh, Saudi Arabia
The luxury resort hotel will represent the largest of 11 hotels set to open on the island and will occupy a prime position within this pioneering tourist development. Grand Hyatt The Red Sea will be the second Grand Hyatt hotel in the Kingdom and the seventh Grand Hyatt hotel in the Middle East, marking an important milestone in Hyatt’s growth strategy in the region.
Slated to open as part of phase one of the Red Sea Project, the property will feature a striking architectural “coral bloom”design, that will offer a sense of luxury that blends seamlessly with the natural environment. A tasteful mix of suites and large standard rooms will provide guests with a comfortable and upscale place from which to explore the area’s diverse ecosystem and endless attractions. World-class food and beverage venues and the wider amenities of the hub island, which will include a marina and an 18-hole championship golf course, will complete the luxury hotel experience within a breath-taking setting.
JUMEIRAH HOTEL MARSA AL ARAB (2023-Q2)
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Jumeriah Marsa Al Arab will lead a new generation of Jumeirah Group’s ultra-luxury portfolio
Nestled at the tip of a peninsula at the heart of Dubai’s largest private beach, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab will complete Jumeirah’s oceanic trilogy, which includes the wave-shaped Jumeirah Beach Hotel and sailboat-inspired Burj Al Arab Jumeirah. The new resort, with design influences of a futuristic superyacht, will feature 386 rooms and suites, four penthouses, as well as 83 luxury hotel apartment suites set amid private landscaped gardens.
The award-winning architect behind the design is Shaun Killa, whose Dubai-based architectural firm created some of the city’s most interesting buildings.
The design for Marsa Al Arab is inspired by the subtle nautical references derived from the grandeur of modern super-luxurious motor yachts. The form reflects the notion of standing on the top deck of a yacht.
FOUR SEASONS JEDDAH CORNICHE (2023-Q2)
