Welcome Back to The Great and The Good
he UK was put into lockdown on 23rd March in an unprecedented step to attempt to limit the spread of coronavirus. Shockwaves were felt across the globe with business of all sizes across a multitude of sectors, sadly closed their doors. The hospitality sector was hit hard by the subsequent closures and restrictions, however as controls were eased on 4th July restaurants, bars and hotels in England slowly began welcoming back guests. The government also introduced a number of excellent schemes to encourage performance in the hospitality and tourism sector. Including the reduction of VAT from 20% to 5% to assist job retention, and the hugely popular ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme which saw an uptake of 35 million meals in the first two weeks.
In this week’s blog we wanted to take the opportunity to throw the spotlight on the greatly anticipated reopening of three of our many prestigious clients within this sector:
JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London
JW Steakhouse & Terrace and Park Lane Market reopened on July 31st. Hotel Reopening October 2020
The former home of the Duke of Gloucester, Grosvenor House has commanded a notable location on Park Lane since opening its doors in 1929. Serving as one of London’s main social hubs, Grosvenor House has hosted many significant and extravagant occasions including the Royal Caledonian Ball, the Russian Debutante Ball and, for the past 68 years, the hotel has been the official host of the British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards. With such notable surroundings, Studio 104 is proudly a nominated bespoke uniform supplier for Marriott in Europe.
Studio 104 has had the pleasure of working with Grosvenor House since 2015 where we launched our luxury uniform collection within JW Steakhouse and the prestigious Park Rooms. We are very much looking forward to launching our new bespoke Doorman, Concierge and Porters uniforms for when the hotel reopens in the next couple of months – Stay tuned to our blog for updates!
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London
Reopened on 20th July 2020
Built in 1889, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has long been recognised as one of London's grandest hotels. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has a current portfolio of 33 luxury hotels, resorts, and residences worldwide. Their newest addition will be Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, due to open in 2021.
Studio 104 has been working with the Mandarin Oriental creating their luxury bespoke uniforms since 2017, across 15 different departments including, doorman, front of house, spa, F&B, butlers, and housekeeping.

Gleneagles, Auchterarder
Reopened on 15th July 2020
An iconic country estate set beneath the beautiful Ochil Hills in Scotland, The Gleneagles Hotel has been a luxury destination for nearly a century. Set within 850 acres, it offers 3 championship golf courses and an ESPA spa, along with a falconry school.
Since 2016 Studio 104 has had the pleasure of creating bespoke uniforms for Gleneagles, and last year saw the most recent addition of the uniforms in The Strathearn restaurant.
